Valeriano Piñeiro-Naval has a degree in Advertising and Public Relations (Universidade de Vigo) and in Audiovisual Communication (University of Salamanca). He has a doctorate (with European mention) in Audiovisual Communication, Technological Revolution and Cultural Change from the University of Salamanca (2015), where he currently works as a Permanent Labor Professor. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid) and at the Universidade da Beira Interior (Covilhã), where he enjoyed a national scholarship from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) of Portugal. Likewise, he carried out research stays at the Pontificia Universidad Católica (Santiago, Chile) and at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (Monterrey, Mexico), and a teaching stay (Erasmus +) at the Universidade do Porto. His main lines of research are based on the dynamics established between culture, heritage and tourism in the digital society, content analysis and design of municipal websites, meta-research in communication sciences and narratives transmedia.
