Ph.D. in Journalism from Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid (2012). He holds a master’s in advanced studies in Communication (2009), degrees in Advertising and Public Relations (2011), Journalism (2008), Education (University of Murcia), and Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (2002, Catholic University of Murcia, UCAM). His research spans several international projects including MEDIADELCOM, PHARM, World of Journalism Study (WJS), and studies in Journalistic Cultures and Pre-professional Journalistic Culture, focusing on a comparative analysis of communication, journalism, and journalists across several countries and world regions. Oller Alonso has made contributions to the field with over 20 scientific books, nearly 60 co-authored books, over 60 scientific articles, and participation in around 90 conferences worldwide. His global experience extends to residencies in Switzerland, England, France, Spain, Italy, and Ecuador, with research stints in Cuba, and the United States. He has been actively engaged in scientific endeavors in Latin America and completed a postdoc stay at the University of Milano as part of the PHARM project from March 2020 to February 2022 and MEDIADELCOM research group from March 2022 to October 2023. Beginning in November 2023, he joined the University of Salamanca under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions-H2020-MSCA-COFUND-2020-USAL4EXCELLENCE-PROOPI-663 program.
